FTP and Motion Zone Setup

This page helps customers and technicians configure FTP image delivery to Watcher247, then define the motion zone so WhatsApp alerts are sent only for important events.

Recommended Watcher247 values

Use these values as a starting point, then adjust by camera model and location.

FTP settings

Server: ftp.watcher247.com
Port: 21
Mode: PASV/Auto
Remote Directory: usually empty
File Type: Image/JPEG

Capture settings

Enable Event-Triggered Snapshot, use High quality, capture 1 to 3 images, and start with 3000ms interval.

Motion settings

Enable Motion Detection, draw the zone carefully, set medium sensitivity, and test alerts.

Usually configured through the browser, not Hik-Connect

Open the camera

Open the camera IP in a browser and go to Configuration.

FTP

Network → Advanced Settings → FTP, enter server, port, username and password, enable Upload Picture, then Test and Save.

Capture

Storage → Schedule Settings → Capture → Capture Parameters, enable Event-Triggered Snapshot and select JPEG/High/Capture Number.

Motion Zone

Event → Basic Event → Motion Detection, enable motion, draw the alert area, then enable Upload to FTP/Memory Card under Linkage Method.

Other camera brands

Paths differ by interface version, but the idea is the same: configure FTP, then link motion events to FTP snapshots.
